The Weekly: Solo Date Fail
Talia's Book Nook starts Wednesday on TikTok Live! Plus: What I did last week and why there's no Talia Talk Tuesdays tomorrow. 🙃
Happy Monday!
I’m hoping last week was better than the week before it.
My week was quieter than most. I only went to one influencer thingy. The Chilean government hosted a pisco happy hour at Mercy Me, which is inside of the Yours Truly Hotel near Dupont Circle. It was nice. Love is Blind fans: Marissa from season 7 was there with her new beau. He seems nice. Standard haircut. Good for her!
Saturday, I planned a whole solo date day to celebrate a milestone. I was going to vlog it and everything, but I only did the first part—hang out on Upshur Street in Petworth. I had to pickup the new cover of my favorite book ever Kennedy Ryan’s Reel Black woman-owned Loyalty Bookstores, wanted a sweet treat from woman-owned Lulabelle’s Sweet Shop, and treated myself to a couple of autumnal floral arrangements from Black woman-owned Flowers by Alexes. By the time I got in my car to head down to Union Market for a late lunch and Umbrella Art Fair (I went last year), I wanted to go home. The sudden loss in interest and motivation happens, but I’m just glad I got out of bed, looked like something and left the house.
Back at home, I finished reading Connie Easton new release Man of the Year. Xander “Doc” Brown is what the young kids would call a “crash out,” but I love an unhinged love interest. I also finished binging Cross season 1 on Prime Video. I liked it so much, I sat through most of it again with bestie on Sunday.
Last week before Thanksgiving! Let’s push through!

Wednesday: Talia’s Book Nook
We finally made it! Talia’s Book Nook, my twice-a-month bookish TikTok Live, launches on November 20 at 8pm ET. This week, it’s just me talking about my favorite romance novellas (books with 130ish pages or less).
In future weeks, I’ll be joined by your favorite authors and bookfluencers. We might even have a virtual book club situation every other month or every quarter. You’ll decide.
NOT Tomorrow: Talia Talk Tuesdays
I was a little unhinged during last week’s Talia Talk Tuesday. The November 12 Live got shut down and I received an account strike. Lmaooooooooo. See you November 26 at 8pm ET for our next weekly chat about hot topics, current events and overall mess.
