Whew! Last week was eventful.
I attended the U.S. Black Chambers National Conference with TikTok last week. TikTok flew out three Black woman-owned businesses that use TikTok and TikTok Shop to grow and sell:
Cocoa Asante: The Keith Lee-approved bean-to-bar artisan chocolate company (my favorite is the 45% milk chocolate and I just ordered some bonbons)
Bask & Lather Co.: Creator of TikTok’s most popular edge control and hair growth products
Miche Beauty: Home to the Tropical Oasis anti-humidity gel and other clean gender-neutral hair care
My interviews with each of the brands are dropping on TikTok only this week. Also: I interviewed Maryland Governor Wes Moore. Here’s a snippet.
I also popped into the final installment of The Yards’ Sundeck Summer Reads series on Wednesday evening. The book girlies were outside!
Saturday, I stopped by MahoganyBooks’ Black Books Matter Festival. I met so many of y’all! Shoutout to everyone who stood in the Kennedy Ryan signing line.
I didn’t have to stand in that line though. I hosted her and 50 fans for brunch with Morgan of prettylittlebookshelf next day at the Westin National Harbor. I’ll recap later this week, but here are some photos and videos.
Also on Saturday, I grabbed drinks with girlfriends in Alexandria. The Peoples Drug in Old Town is cute!
