Spent Friday night celebrating my dear friend’s birthday. She had a game night at Hamilton’s Bar & Grill near The Hill. Nothing like a dive bar to remind you that you don’t need to spend $20 for a cocktail! How refreshing.
I had big plans for big fun on Saturday, but I had to do my hair. The braids were going on week nine, which is wholly unacceptable. It was a struggle, but I decided on wearing my hair in a braidout for the week.
Sunday was great! Spent the afternoon at the Atlas Performing Arts Center on H Street for a special showing of Mosaic Theater Company’s The Art of Care hosted by Onose of HighVibeByOnose (whose Substack and TikTok event guides I repost all the time). I’ve never been to a play like this, but I really enjoyed The Art of Care and it was quite therapeutic. Use code 20ARTS for 20% off tickets. Grabbed dinner at Daru nearby with a friend in town for the weekend. The Indian restaurant was added to the Michelin Guide in 2022. Great for dates and people who like to share food. Get the lamb chops! Ended the night on a solo date at the Kennedy Center for the Masego concert. I love that Jamaican saxophone man so much.
