Thursday night, I had the honor of previewing Grounded’s first-ever storefront. Grounded sold me my first house plant years ago, so seeing founders Mignon and Danuelle’s vision come to life makes me so proud. The gorgeous and community-centered plant shop, cafe and wellness studio is located in DC’s historic Anacostia neighborhood.

After a random Saturday night at Outback Steakhouse back in May, my friends have been trying to make quarterly visits to suburban chain restaurants a thing. I guess we forgot what it was like to spend less than $25 per person for dinner. Anyways, we went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch on Saturday. It was my first time at the restaurant. The rolls are great. Everything else was OK. The 81-year-old grandmother who almost died in the booth behind us made for quite the experience. I hope she’s OK.

My birthday getaway is this weekend. It’s slight this year. So long as I’m not home, a win is a win.

All the author and publisher PR has left me with some duplicates, so I’m giving away the following romance book bundles to two (2) of y’all:

1. All three (3) books in the The Boyfriend Project series by Farrah Rochon. Each contemporary romance books follows a friend in a newly-formed best friend trio bonded by dating the same man at the same time.

2. The first two books in the The Secrets series by T.M. Richardson (The Opportunity is out in 2025). You know how I feel about The Oath and The Offer. This spicy bundle will also include two book plates signed by the author herself.
